PLTW Engineering Design and Development (Available 2022-2023)
1 UNIT (NON-REPEATABLE)
Seniors
Prerequisite: Must successfully pass two of the prior engineering courses with a C or better.
Maximum Capacity: 12 students per class
The knowledge and skills students acquire throughout our Engineering courses come together in this capstone class - Engineering Design and Development - as they identify an issue and then research, design, and test a solution, ultimately presenting their solution to a panel of engineers. Students apply the professional skills they have developed to document a design process to industry standards, while students work in teams to design and develop an original solution to a valid open-ended technical problem by applying the engineering design process. The teams will create a working prototype of their solution, to deem the problem as “solved.”
Dual Credit opportunities:
- College dual credit is available from Missouri S&T upon completion of two PLTW-Engineering courses and with specific requirements.
- State Fair Community College Course: EDT 115 Advanced Engineering Design (3 credits) PENDING
