SAE Internship

Prerequisite: Completion of 3  years of agriculture classes

Students who have completed three years of agricultural courses are eligible for a SAE Internship (supervised agricultural experiences) for one to three hours per day. For every ten hours of work averaged per week, a student can earn ½ credit per semester. For every twenty hours of work averaged per week, a student can earn 1 credit per semester. For every thirty hours of work averaged per week, a student can earn 1 ½ credits per semester. This internship must be taken in conjunction with another agricultural course. Some internships may receive pay from an employer where others do not depending on the type of business or industry. Students must have reliable transportation and signed parent permission in order to participate, along with instructor and BTEC director approval. Students will also be required to be subject to onsite evaluations and maintain a financial record book documenting their work.

  • State Technical College of Missouri (formerly State Technical College of Missouri) Course: CTG 106 Fundamentals of Turf & Grounds (3 credit hours if Ag Science II and one of the following Greenhouse Operations & Management I/II or Landscape and Turfgrass Management are completed)
