What is NTHS?

The National Technical Honor Society currently serves somewhere around 100,000 active members and nearly a million members since its inception in 1984.  Awarding $1.7+ million in scholarships to date, NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today's highly competitive, skilled workforce.

For over 30 years, NTHS has been the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education.

What is the goal of the NTHS?

The goal of the NTHS is to see that deserving technical students be recognized for their achievements and skill development with their friends, their school, and the community.  We wish to bring awareness of the talents and abilities of the young adults who choose technical education pathways to a successful future.  These new members receive a tassel and purple cords to wear at graduation and a NTHS seal for their diploma.  NTHS members are good, honest, responsible student-citizens who have made a personal commitment to excellence and who agree to uphold the NTHS Standards and Conduct.

What are the requirements needed to join NTHS?

NTHS members have worked very hard for the opportunity and invitation to join the National Technical Honor Society.  Each member has to achieve a 3.0 GPA, sustain a 95% attendance rate, and maintain a high standard of professional conduct.  Each member has to be enrolled or have taken a class at the BTEC.

Why apply to NTHS?

"NTHS looks great on applications, it shows that I am skilled in BTEC classes which can help me in the future.," Chloe Grizzle said. (2024 Graduate)
