The Boonville R-1 Board of Education proudly announces that Mr. Paul Moore has been named Director of the Boonslick Technical Education Center (BTEC).
Paul Moore has served as a teacher in the Boonville R-1 School District for nine years, splitting his time between the Business program at BHS and Computer Science program at BTEC. Through the Business program, Mr. Moore served as co-adviser for the Boonville chapter of Future Business Leaders of America, which recently received Gold Level status in the Missouri FBLA Chapter of the Year program. Mr. Moore has also coached many different BHS athletic programs, including being an assistant coach for the 2021 State Champion Lady Pirate basketball team. Mr. Moore's Bachelor's Degree is in Organizational Communication from William Jewell College, and his Master's Degree is in Secondary Business Education from Rockhurst University. While serving as BTEC Director, Mr. Moore will complete his Professional Leadership Ed.S at the University of Central Missouri.
BTEC has an outstanding reputation in career and technical education. Mr. Moore says," I have worked in the CTE world for nearly ten years and have seen how valuable this type of education can be for students. BTEC is truly a special place because it provides a wide variety of CTE/CTSO programs that allow students to obtain new skills and certifications attractive to industry leaders looking to fulfill their employment needs. Our ultimate goal is to give students every advantage in being 'workplace ready' by the time they graduate."
Mr. Moore is eager to begin his leadership at BTEC: "I am excited to work with such an incredible staff and continue building quality relationships with local business leaders to adapt our programs to fit the modern economy." He will transition to this role on July 1, 2023.
