Service Learning Coordinator

Mrs. Cathy Gochenour, Service Learning Coordinator

Photo of Cathy GochenourCathy Gochenour has lived in Boonville for her entire life. She received her associates degree from Kemper Military School and College.  She has one son, Clayton, who is in his second year at Central Methodist University. She was the Sales Coordinator for Fuqua Homes for over 22 years before coming to the school district. She decided to listen to her mother and follow her steps in working for the school district.  She had been the high school secretary for over 32 years, and absolutely loved being with the students. Ms. Gochenour was hired in 2007 by the Boonville R-1 School District as a Para at LSE. She happily fulfilled her role for that job title until she had a career change to Administrative Assistant. This had her divided between David Barton and Laura Speed Elliott. Then, seven years ago, she moved to BTEC. She considers herself very fortunate to have worked in so many buildings for the district, and the BTEC has been her all-time favorite.

Ms. Gochenour’s latest career change here at the BTEC has been becoming the Service Learning Coordinator, and she is very excited about this opportunity.  Her goal is to aid in student apprenticeship and internship programs for the district. She says, “We are doing a lot of great things at BTEC.  I urge everyone to come out and learn about our programs we currently offer!” Ms. Gochenour has many great memories, but one that comes to her mind more prominently than others was the school lip dub! She says that the anticipation and excitement was hilarious, and she loved when everyone came together in the gym for a school photo.
